
After you finish the game they have dungeons working exactly like an original Roguelike. The length of the main story of the J-Roguelike game depends on what are you playing, some games are more forgiven, because the market are children using the console, it works similar to a tutorial. However USUALLY you wouldn't see a FPS, platform, or something completely different called "rogue-like" like Western devs usually do. Japanese roguelike (aka Mystery dungeon) keep similar rogue/nethack game mechanics between them with some innovation. The original rogue/Roguelike (western) don't have a story and was focused to young adult, the Japanese RPG influence basically is full of dialogs and story, part of the Japanese gaming history.
